I have recently developed an appreciation for the Moody Blues stuff. I have that first compilation that came out way back when. The two CD one.

OTOH, the second guy from the left looks like somebody's aunt.  ;D

I haven't developed much apprecation yet.

These "Gold" collections all have two discs. They're kind of neat, overall.

Without (or perhaps with) being too corny, I'd say they have a great sense of mood, a mellow dark flavor that I like. I expect your comp extends beyond the boundaries of mine. Mine is all early-ish stuff.

Yes, for song selection, the Gold series is nice. I have the Traffic one and the Rod Stewart one.

Lessee...In addition to the Moody Blues, I have B.B. King, Chuck Berry, Kiss, '80s Dance Songs...mmm.... That's all I can remember right now. There might be a couple more.

Now playing:

An early '70s country collection.

The scariest (for me — YMMV) is Asia Gold.

I was scarcely aware that they had recorded two discs' worth of stuff, period.

I'm seriously sceptical that they generated two discs of "gold."

Yeah. Some are pure gold (Berry; King) and some peter out.

That could have been a CD single.  8)

They didn't have that many albums, did they?

I recently got the first one, but beyond that I knew nothing.

Actually, they did have a lot of albums

The passing heat of quite a few moments, I guess . . . .

I'm guessing the first one is best.

Golden Smog/Down by the old mainstream.

Maybe not such a bad buy anyway some 12 years ago.
I love music. Sadly, I'm an audiophile too.

BB King - couple of a handful of CDs that I own of this great guitarist & blues boy!

Plenty of BB King's CDs around - also have a 2-CD anthology of his later years (1962-98); the Live at Regal is a classic live recording from Chicago in 1964; considered the 'best' of his live performances on disc, and a 'must have' for any BB collection (although a number of tracks usually appear on compilations) -  :D
