There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

What is the date of the session on this beauty?

Sometime in 2007. It's the same band as the Crossroads Festival from that year.

I saw Rod Stewart back in the early 80's and I swear Beck was lurking in the shadows.  This story from the world wide web:

Rod Stewart live in Seattle '84 joined onstage for 6 songs by none other than Jeff Beck! Jeff was originally reported to have agreed to Rod's entire North American CAMOUFLAGE tour but backed out at the last minute. Asked why the duo couldn't work out their differences in order for the tour to happen as planned, Rod said "Jeff and I have a Love/Hate relationship -- I love him and he hates me!"

Another great Barry Diament mastering! When those drums kick in for the climax on the first song, you realize how important it is to keep the dynamics in rock/pop music. This is something far, far too many of today's mastering engineers just don't realize.

I find that to be an underrated album as well, some great tunes on there.

I also saw him live on his Sussudio tour.  It was a very entertaining evening.

James,
This is BY FAR my favorite Hendrix effort, that is his live Band of Gypsys album.  These Fillmore East excerpts are absolutely incredible.  Have not bought the complete effort, but probably should.  The single album is the one I had as a kid and it just works for me as is.
