No, no, bad form . . . this should be a zone free from politics/news.

Now:

Kullervo

Objectively, not his best — but for some reason I play this probably more than any of his albums.

WHOA! Now I have to get it!

:) There is a decent review of it here - kind of long-winded, though :P
Peanut butter, flour and sugar do not make cookies. They make FIRE.

Specifically the track: Here Come The Munchies. An excellent(!) companion to late night hunger.

I'll have what he's having.   ;D

Hi Corey:

I've hardly listened to any TD this year so...

Of the 3 titles I've played this morning Phaedra is the stand out classic  :)

Susan  & I just returned from her fist visit to Memphis, TN - tonight for dinner, we decided to listen to some early singers from that era:

Memphis Minnie - Hoodoo Lady (1933-1937) - great lady blues singer from the period (late '30s recordings)!

Furry Lewis - Shake 'Em on Down - from the early '60s after his rediscovery (own his original recordings from the late 1920s) - he was a 'wooden legged' Memphis street cleaner when found again! Sad -  :-\

I feel like this is one of those albums I'm going to appreciate for what it is, but not really ever crave a spin of, maybe I need to give it a dozen more spins though.

Yeah I gave mine a spin a few weeks ago for the first time and didn't make it through the first few tracks. I felt it will be better heard at a time when I am in the mood for it. Luckily I have Smiley Smile too.  8)

I kinda don't get what all the fuss is about.  I was expecting to be totally blown away.  I even tried to put on different ears and all that, but somehow, it just doesn't have the impact on me that it seems to have on...like....the rest of the world.

I feel ya. Just revisit in a few months. Or maybe it just sucks.  ::)
