Other than the  Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie is he currently the music advisor to any other group?

Doesn't matter. I saw him conducting the Tonhalle a few months ago, and he was my favourite candidate after that concert, easily.

The other one named as a possible Bringuier successor after a concert - which I also attended - was Pablo Heras-Casado ... but that would have been another young one, another gamble in a difficult and transitional time. From 2017/18 on, the orchestra will be out of its main stage, instead performing in a temporarily built concert hall - which may or may not have a big negative impact on its "Klangkultur" (what's that in English? you guys lack composites fersure!), which was already kind of an issue in Bringuier's time, I guess.

So having an experienced conductor at the helm, and one where the chemistry is definitely right, too, is probably a sound decision. Anyway, at that concert I heard with him conducting, they did Schumann 3, which isn't all that attractive a piece I think - but that night it was amongst the very finest, no doubt. And the interaction between Järvi and the orchestra just seemed totally natural. In fact he's now been quoted that after that concert he said to himself: "if they ask me to be their chief conductor, I'll definitely accept" - and that's what they did, luckily.

Looking forward for sure!
