Honestly, methinks there's a little too much protestation (Henning's Nuhro is too contemporary, Pergolesi's Stabat mater is not choral enough) in what's supposed to be an innocuous, inconsequential and fun game.  ;D

Nay, the objection was not to Nuhro being contemporary; only that a highly interested party is a participant  0:)

That's what I actually meant. So what? Can't they trust you not to vote for your own work? Or would you take it as a personal offense if somebody doesn't vote for it? Or would somebody felt obliged to vote for it just because? I doubt on all accounts.

I asked Sammy if it was allowed (reply #3). Apparently he didn't have any objection.
I didn't notice that Sammy had commented on the matter. I like the work very much indeed, of course. But if it's fit to participate in this game, then all sorts of works with at least two vocalists are too, like Pärt's Stabat Mater for soprano, alto, tenor, violin, viola & cello. . .

Haven't you realized that the rules are always the most fun part of a game?  0:)

Then if the rule is "choral" strictly and by the book, most nominations should be discarded because they involve a non-choral element: orchestra.   ;D

Rossini - Petite messe solennelle (great idea, Gio:))
Pergolesi- Stabat Mater (which thus becomes "game ready" to compete for the title of favourite sacred choral work sans chorus  ;)).

Actually my Rossini's favourite work and one of my favourite sacred works ever :), but it falls off the radar every time.
