Sammy

We have arrived at Round One of our Innovative Composer Game.  After a few days of selecting composers, there are a total of 58 for our voting pleasure.  I have broken the total down into 2 rounds, each round having 29 entries.  For each round, the 10 composers ending up with the highest scores will advance to the final round.

Voting Rules:

1.  You may vote once daily.

2.  Each composer starts the round with zero points.

3.  When you vote, you will have 10 upward points to distribute as you please except that no composer may receive more than 5 points.

4.  Round One ends with the first composer to reach 100 points.

5.  The Half-Time Adjustment is in effect.  With the first composer to garner 50 points, the 10 composers having the lowest scores will be eliminated from the game; this number could rise if there are ties toward the bottom of the board.

I'd love to count your votes, but you need to post them in the same manner as your fellow members.

How to place your votes:

1.  Copy and Paste the most recent voting post.
2.  Delete everything in parentheses.
3.  Assign your points in parentheses.
4.  Make sure to raise the point totals to account for your votes.

I'm surprised to see Beethoven get so many votes.  He didn't invent, change or destroy the classical models inherited from Haydn and others before him. Rather brought them farther in terms of their capacity to heighten expression.

Is that being innovative ? Maybe. Since I am no musicologist or trained musician, I can't argue one way or another. Just my two cents, of course  :).
