I think it's about time we had a yoghurt thread (my last food-related thread was on tomato ketchup I think - I'm sure you all wanted to know that).

Anyway, one of the newspapers today features a whole section on the health-giving properties of yoghurt.

Do you eat yogurt and if so what type?

Greek Yoghurt is highly rated for helping to maintain health/prevent disease. So, I'm eating more Greek yoghurt at the moment. I also like prune flavoured Activia bio-yoghurt.

I enjoy greek yoghurt very much

Crudblud

I get a few pots of the bog standard Morrisons' own Greek yoghurt each week. Usually chop an apple into it, fresh raspberries as well if they're in season, sometimes toasted almonds or other nuts.

Everyday.  Either of these:

I buy them by the case. Fave flavors: lemon, peach/apricot, blueberry.

fat free yoghurt is about as much point as alcohol free beer - and tastes as bad too!

The word geek in me rejoices simply to see yoghurt spelled with an h   0:)

Thread Duty:

Yoghurt is a staple in our diet.  The ladies do prefer whole milk yoghurt, and I have not insisted on a "lighter" option.  We buy a tub of plain yoghurt, and use it in a variety of dishes,

Thank you guys!

Such interesting responses - this is even more successful than my Klaus Egge thread  :o

Ok I don't usually buy the Daily Mail (you understand) but today is a 'Yoghurt Special'.

Here are their top recommendations in their feature 'Why you MUST eat a pot of YOGHURT (with an 'h'  8)) every day.
According to the article the right type can offer 'protection against heart disease, diabetes and infections to helping you lose weight (not so successful in my case so far) and even fight hay fever...'

Top Recommendations:

Yeo Valley Natural Yoghurt (just bought some from Tesco. If you don't find it sweet enough add fruit.

The article doesn't recommend fat free.
