I know that this is the news that you've all been waiting for:

At least Theresa May will be pleased that it will temporarily distract the nation from Brexit.

I'm astonished by the apparent lack of interest in this news story.

No, no...it's that we (or I, at least) are so excited, so overwhelmed, we don't have the energy to post or even enquire about this.  ;)

Well, it isn't like a big accomplishment. Babies are amazingly easy to make. Perhaps too easy?

You could enlighten me though; is there some sort of scandalous accusation going about that Harry may not be fully, shall we say, Windsor? Reason I ask is I saw on Twitter today, some wag saying to the effect "pity Harry can't tell his father about it", and it was liked and passed around. I know, red-haired stepchild and all that, but I hadn't heard the allegation previously. Is that a thing over there?

Well, the last time I paid any attention to the Royals was, ummm.... well, never. So yeah, it surprised me a little to hear it. Not my country, why would I pay attention? ???  :)

There is a murmur, more than a rumor, that Princess Diana had an affair with a particular gentleman, now I believe deceased, about the time of Harry's conception, and the gentleman in question had more than a passing resemblance to Harry. Prince William has an obvious resemblance to his mother, but to my eye Prince Harry bares little resemblance to anyone else in the royal family. Given that HRH Charles is one of the ugliest royals alive (so is his sister,  but the ugly gene seems to have missed the two younger brothers), not resembling his (legal, at least) father is a blessing however it happened,

Thanks for the background. Clearly the brothers wouldn't be mistaken for twins, but I thought Harry might resemble one of Diana's family. From what I've ever heard, she was a Saint, so who knew?

(PS - FWIW, I always thought Charles and Camilla were a perfect match.)

Doesn't look terribly alike to me. To be honest, the beard he wears now makes him resemble his great great grandfather George V.

If it's a choice between Charles and this guy, it's this guy.

How long will it be before Charlotte accidentally drops her superbaby cousin?

Across the Channel we have our own royalty, and they have babies too!!  :D

Royal Bastards have risen very high in history (e.g. Charles Martel and William of Normandy) but even in the doubtful case that this classification should be appropriate here, I doubt that the stakes and general royal mortality are high enough nowadays that all those in succession before the new baby could somehow meet a dire fate and he would rise to the top...
