I can't remember the last time I listened to this recording.  Ten years?  Fifteen?  More.  It's stored as WAV files, so I ripped it over fifteen years ago.  Anyway, perfectly pleasant in a bland, mediocre sort of way.
The universe is change; life is opinion. - Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

People would rather believe than know - E.O. Wilson

Propaganda death ensemble - Tom Araya

Had a Roger Sessions session last night:

Symphony No. 6

A beautiful slow movement breaks up the usual jazzy cacophony.

Piano Sonata No. 2

As difficult as Sessions music often is, the shear physicality of the music often carries me through, and that's certainly the case in this sonata, which sounds like it would be fun to play.

When Lilacs Last in the Dooryard Bloom'd

Whitman's poem has been a popular one for musical settings.

Some beautiful music, though only mezzo Florence Quivar has a really attractive voice. The dry baritone and quavery soprano are just OK.

Dry Brett Kavanaugh

Bartók and Bach piano concertos. Wehner Tibor, Hungarian State Orchestra/János Ferencsik.

(Maybe it stands to Josquin as Jonathan Butt's WTC stands to Bach

Yesterday I purchased the Josquin CD as download from Presto because of your strong recommendation. Haven't heard it yet because my Peter Waldner listening has the first priority.

As to Cut Circle your Butt comparison gives me a bad feeling beforehand.
Reality trumps our fantasy far beyond imagination.

The current annihilation of a people on this planet (you know which one it is) is the most documented and at the same time the most preposterously denied.

Milhaud: String Quartet No. 9

Symphonic Addict

That Milhaud SQ was absolutely wonderful. His writing for strings is nothing but exquisite and graceful.

Now:

Rota: Viola Sonata in G major

Lovely in spades. One of my favorite Rota discs.

Three Second Piano Sonatas

BTW this is the only CD in the set which is not limited to only one composer.

I love 'Nights in the Gardens of Spain'

Poulenc: Aubade.

Choreographic Concerto for Piano and 18 Instruments.

The music is like the cover, a riot of colour.
You must have a very good opinion of yourself to write a symphony - John Ireland.

I opened the door people rushed through and I was left holding the knob - Bo Diddley.

Really impressive recording of Froberger's Italianate music, I think a major achievement - takes this music to a new level of poetry.

Silvius Leopold Weiss.
Lute Music, Volume II.

Sonate No.39 in C major.
Tombeau Sur La Mort De M. Comte De Logy.
Sonata No.50 in B flat major.
Jakob Lindberg, Lute.
Recorded in 2007, no PDF attached to this recording.

As per usual very good. Have no idea if he is using the Rauwolf Lute, or where it is recorded.
Weiss has a fine advocate in Lindberg.
I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

Did you stream this from Qobuz? I try what I may, but cannot find it.

That means that Qobuz has non of the Froberger edition in their streaming service. A bit disappointing!
