@foxandpeng this is one of my favorite Stravinsky scores. Indeed, the closing chord was the direct inspiration for the final cadence of Out in the Sun.

Right? Truly, I don't know how the jurors would choose among them. On that note, in a perfect world, I would love to be a fly on the wall during their discussions. My hunch is that very, very tiny things — e.g., an almost unnoticeable slip in a tricky Presto passage, that would be totally forgiven in a normal concert — would make a difference.

Dipping into the Désire-Emile Inghelbrecht set I purchased this afternoon. Starting with CD 7: Debussy's Jeux, Gigues and Rondes de printemps (from the Images), Trois chansons de Charles d'Orléans (with contralto Freda Betty and the French Radio Symphonic Choir), and Trois ballades de François Villon (with baritone Bernard Plantey). All with the French National Radio Orchestra.

The performance of Jeux is superb!!!!

Bach, CPE - Flute Sonatas - Bartold Kuijken on period flutes with two different keyboardists - both 2-disc sets but NO repeats (CPE wrote a lot of flute 'stuff' working for the flute-playing Frederick the Great!) - the recording with Bob van Asperen includes mostly early Wq numbers, i.e. 73, 83-87; the set w/ Ewald Demeyere are the higher Wq numbers in the 120-30s (composition list HERE).  Dave
