Always liked Bernstein's 'Planets'.

Yes, it's rather thrilling. Have you heard the Charles Groves performance with the RPO, Jeffrey?

I haven't heard this work in ages. Such a great work!

Thanks for all the´well wishes. Mijn dank voor alle wensen.

I will be operated on the 18th of January, that is if Covid does not  prevent this. This is the second try! The operation last three hours, so complicated it is.
And when all goes well, the left eye will also undergo surgery.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Symphonies No. 4,5 & 7.

Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Howard Griffiths.

Frankly I never heard these symphonies better as with this band, Griffiths makes it a feast. The sound is state of the Art.

Elgar's finest IMO.

Lennox Berkeley: 1st Symphony.

A master of orchestration, nimble and engaging as always. I have always thought Berkeley, in a good way not the most profound of composers. He is about the music but funnily enough the slow movement made me think of the Pathétique.
You must have a very good opinion of yourself to write a symphony - John Ireland.

I opened the door people rushed through and I was left holding the knob - Bo Diddley.

Certainly a fine work no doubt about it, but I personally could never make the claim that it's his finest. He wrote so much other music that I love as well.

John, I think it to be true that every list of yours is longer then mine. :(

Best of luck with that. It's good they think they can do something to help, so fingers crossed that everything works out.
