Mahler: Symphony #5 in C Sharp Minor

Bought this Set a few years back - I like it very much (also Kubelik's Dvorak Cycle is wonderful!)
I don't think I've listened to the 4th, 8th or 9th Symphonies yet - Will have to get around to that soonish... :)

Martinu: String Quartet #6, H 312

Was going to listen to Thomson's Martinu Symphony Cycle but it's not on Spotify or Apple Music - I guess I can buy a copy of it... ???

Enjoying listening to the above instead... (Not a Symphony obviously) :)

Indeed, I can imagine your wife's comments...  ;)

The recent issue of Jacob Obrecht's Missa Maria Zart by Capilla Pratensis made me this morning reach for this recording by Beauty Farm:

Different approaches but both excellent and idiomatic performances.

HaHa - I had the volume turned down and took her up a cup of tea to circumvent any protest.

I have a couple of issues from this series on historical organ from different regions of Italy by the Milanese label "La Bottega Discantica". Good stuff. Generally well recorded and played by excellent organists, like Francesco Cera here. Music by Banchieri, Merulo, Colonna, Battiferri, Pasquini, Monari, Martini and Da Bergamo.

Spanish Renaissance songs by Nuria Rial, Raquel Andueza (sopranos) and Jordi Domenech (countertenor), with some instrumental interludes. From a set (12 CDs) with Spanish music from the Renaissance and Baroque, featuring José Miguel Moreno as a solist or accompanist (vihuela/guitar), or as director.

I can't imagine anyone interested in this repertoire to be less than overjoyed with this splendid set.

A splendid disc. Boskovsky owns the repertoire.

In this respect he's part of a trinity alongside Clemens Kraus and Josef Krips.
