Girolamo Alessandro Frescobaldi.
Complete unpublished Works for Harpsichord & Organ.
Volume IV.

Roberto Loreggian, plays on a Zanin organ 1998, Chiesa di St Catherina, Treviso.

I am a bit puzzled by the neglect on GMG of this set. These are clearly very good recordings, in performance, sound and the use of instruments. Anyone that owns the previous released set also on Brilliant cannot possibly do without this edition. I rate it very highly, if that means anything to anyone.
And never fear the modern Zanin organ, it sounds like an old Renaissance instrument.

As you may guess it's a must for me, and just an hour ago I received it with the post, together with the H. Prætorius/Berben.
Reality trumps our fantasy far beyond imagination.

Du Fay- Triste Plaisir [Norin/Ansorg/Cook]

I thought that this album was very engaging throughout. I particularly like the vocals. Norin has an inherently strong and colourful voice which also has a great presence. The instruments sound raw and earthy. I like the overall atmosphere of the album. It is recorded in a warm acoustic with very good sound.

In part the "neglect" is because it's not been released yet here in the US. The official date is Friday the 7th.
For myself, it's one of a few things I have on my next order list.

Excellent, that makes me very happy to hear. The Praetorius is a gem .

Fauré: Piano Quartet No. 2 [Rogé/Quatuor Ysaÿe]

The first movement opens with music that flows effortlessly. It is gentle, lyrical and rolling music that is very tender. The intensity level rises in the second movement and the music bubbles along. The musicians play with great fluidity. The slow movement has a wonderful sense of enchantment to it. The playing is very delicate and intimate. The final movement is dramatic and emotionally intense.

Hey, Rafael! Yes, it is an incredible ballet. I have that Boulez/CSO recording, but I haven't heard it in years. Thanks for the reminder. Oh and bummer about the Apollo and Pulcinella tickets being sold-out. :( Maybe you can try the will call window or do they still do this? Like, for example, someone can't go to the concert and they get a refund and you can purchase them.

...
Went into the theatre's webpage today and....got tickets!  :) :) ;) So my son, his girlfriend, an old friend of mine and I will be seeing Apollo and Pulcinella tonight! Apollo is not my favourite Stravinsky by any stretch of the imagination, but it'll be good to watch the Balanchine choreography. And Pulcinella is one of my favourite compositions ever, by anyone in any genre.

Iberia is the only Debussy orchestral piece that doesn't work for me. I had trouble with Jeux until I listened to Lan Shui with the Singapore Philharmonic Orchestra, which is very rhythmically taut. I should revisit some of the other versions now that I get it. I have to make the boring choice and say the La Mer is my favorite orchestral Debussy, along with the Nocturnes.
Interesting.

You listened to it three times or you spread it out over three nights? Anyway, this, for me, is the reference recording for King Roger.

Lovely, Rafael. I hope you enjoy the concert! I will say that I love Apollon musagète and the same goes for Orpheus and Agon.
