I started dipping into this set this morning.

In the late 1970es Lionel Rogg recorded a distinguished Buxtehude organ integral for EMI. This twofer is unfortunately the only part of it which has been released on CD.
Reality trumps our fantasy far beyond imagination.

Thank you for that information. I did not know that.
I do have Lionel Rogg's integral cycle of JS Bach's Organ Works on vinyl.

The harpsichord concertos are very well performed
I am very picky when it comes to Bach and the Cembalo I am very pleasantly surprised by the energetic engagement without peculiar frills that only distract. I have lived with the Leonhard recordings for years, but these recordings are very attractive.

To be fair, the bar is set rather high with Leonhardt. The fact that you are enjoying Belder so much is a testament to his performances here, I think.

Merci bien, mon ami  8)

The festivities will not kick off in this house until this evening.
However, that will be somewhat tempered with stress and pressure as we will be having my 100 year old mother-in-law to dinner and I am the cook ;D

Carnival Overture, op. 92
Symphonic Variations, op. 78
Slavonic Rhapsody 3 in A-flat Major, op. 45
Biblical Songs, op. 99

Brian Rayner Cook, baritone
Scottish NO - Neeme Järvi

Long got rid of Järvi's Dvořák symphony cycle, although I enjoyed it well enough.

I still hold on to the Symphonic Poems and this compilation of filler works from that cycle, although I don't know if I need to keep this one anymore.

I am sure it is not the most authentic or authoritative, but I really like Rayner Cook's singing in the Biblical Songs here.
