Several of his Sixties records (some being repackages of earlier material) were faves in Manchester before the move to the Colonies.

Sad news. I'm a big fan--although, I have to admit, I didn't know he was still around :-[
  Listening now, and will probably binge on  his playing for a couple days at least.
