In my small world, it's all there; face, title, score - a triad. It's obvious and can often be banal, but it works.

Susan Peters, actress. Maybe late 1940s?

This could be by Virgil Apger who was employed by MGM during the time the shot was taken. But I doubt it, because his forte was the production still (won an Oscar for it) and even allowing for the environment it doesn't look much like his work.

e: the photo is from 1944.
