You would think reporters would know better than to broadcast from the field where the team(s) are warming up and practicing. ::)

It reminds me of those "funniest" videos shows. Which should have been titled "Taking It in the Nuts."

The joke isn't really a joke at all.
The reference in this case it to George Herbert Walker Bush (Daddy) not George Walker Bush (Sonny), who was at one point in his career the head of the CIA, and who, before he became Ronald Reagan's vice-president, termed Reagan's economic proposals "voodoo economics".

Watching this is mezmerizing. For some reason, viewing the smooth arc of the ball and seeing it grow in size at it nears the camera is very satisfying. Over and over again, the poor lady's head keeps getting clobbered, but I can't turn away!

Sara, I'd ask for a bigger version so I can actually read whatever the first three signs say, but that would make the--the--the individual pictured--yes, that it's--the individual pictured larger as well, which is not a consummation devoutly to be wished for.

Meanwhile,  today to celebrate my birthday I took the day off from work and went to the Las Olas Art Fair.  Bought three giclees from three different artists, but my favorite of the three is from this artist: http://www.aprilwdavis.com--a small one of two parrots together.  (Look for the painting called The Wedding--Parrots II; my gilcee is a small central section that contains the parrots.)

A giclee, for those that don't know what it is, is essentially a computerized/digitized reproduction on canvas of the original painting/photograph/etc.--a high resolution print of the original IOW, done on canvas and in the case of my three done under the supervision of the original artist.

Sometime next week, I'll be posting pictures of the Las Olas Isles neighborhood to Flickr/Photobucket--an area just down the street from the Art Fair's location, and part of the reason Fort Lauderdale has the nickname "Venice of the Americas".

;D The forum auto-resizes - clicking on the image should fix that, or failing that, right clicking and "view image". I agree, it's not the most appealing of sights and they knew it :)

By strange coincidence, Jeffrey,  I discovered just yesterday what a giclee is at a memorial service for a family member who died too young. He was an incredible photographer who, due to his deteriorating eyesight from diabetes, started making his living by producing giclees for Cape Cod artists. These are some of his photos.

My condolences.  He obviously had talent.

Those are beautiful photos.

Thanks, Jeffrey, David, and North Star. He was my wife's cousin and as good a person as the pictures he took. Here is some more info about him:

My brother-in-law invented this:

So we visited the Minnesota Marine Art Museum in Winona to view it. And while there, saw this painting by Renoir:

Pierre-August Renoir, "Le Fete De Pan," 1879
They also had a van Gogh, a Picasso and a few other nice things.

Who knew?

I may not go down to Winona again but it made me want to revisit here: http://artsmia.org/.
