You gotta love internet memes...

it's like part 2 of the Michael Jackson eating popcorn and saying he's just there to read the comments.

My avatar, of David Morrissey as Bradley Headstone in 1998 tv serial of Our Mutual Friend. He portrays this tragic, passionate villain perfectly. Headstone is probably Dickens character I most identify with.
"Javert, though frightful, had nothing ignoble about him. Probity, sincerity, candor, conviction, the sense of duty, are things which may become hideous when wrongly directed; but which, even when hideous, remain grand."

- Victor Hugo

All I can think about when looking at that picture is how uncomfortable and embarrassed they must have been being so amateurishly and awkwardly posed...
It's all good...

There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

What are those two doing? Why does she have her hand inside the piano. Is she playing Cage?  ;)  And Abbado could not be more awkwardly posed :o  You know that cover is good enough to be in the Worst Looking CD Artwork thread ;D

But I do agree with MI's evaluation of Martha.

"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Yeah, and I think the record companies did, too. They used pictures that all look like they are from the same 60s sessions for decades.  Suddenly her "Argerich and Friends in Lugano" came out and she seemed to have changed overnight from young hotty into Great Aunt Martha.
It's all good...

How's this for awkward? Abbado does not look comfortable.

Yeah, you are right. But I can understand this one. Hands are surprisingly powerful in portraiture, and I can see the photographer asking him to get them out there, even if it looks a bit strange.  And it's the only thing that looks odd. In the other one, you can tell they had been positioned like wax dummies.
It's all good...

I'm in love with Emily VanCamp. I think she's, what's the word, cutesy, but beautiful -
