Stumbled across this photo taken nearly 4 years ago of an old friend again.

I forgot how much looking at this makes me laugh. Is it just me? That's one of her typical, halfway confrontational expressions, but looking at a tiger and there is a slight sense of fear there. This has to be one of my favorite pictures ever, though I really have no idea why. There's just something about it that is so odd that it makes me laugh nearly uncontrollably.

Harry Mulisch, one of the latests photos of him, the author of "The Composition of the World" and "The Discovery of Heaven".

A quote of him I just read: "I want that my life becomes everybody's property, so I can silently dissapear through the backdoor".
'The 'I' is not prior to the 'we'.' (Jean-Luc Nancy)

'... the cultivation of a longing for the absolute born of a desire for one another as different.' (Luce Irigaray)

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."
                               --Charles Bukowski, "Mahler"

His pal Deano could fly without a copter. ;)

This is not modified. The word boner had quite different meaning back then.
"Javert, though frightful, had nothing ignoble about him. Probity, sincerity, candor, conviction, the sense of duty, are things which may become hideous when wrongly directed; but which, even when hideous, remain grand."

- Victor Hugo
