Ah, I dropped Zoom from my phone a long time ago--not enough space.

But enjoy the conversation!

Most probably I won't be able to join in eventually, so I wish you all Happy New Year! Maybe next time.

I just tested my camera and microphone on ZOOM and they work!

I was amazed!

I am now waiting for the "Host" to start the meeting!  8)

Number Six

Looks like I was timed out. Is everyone out, or shall I try to get back in?

Number Six

Nope, just tried to get back in, and it appears to be over.

Lovely to hear from everyone!  I shouldn't have worried about privacy - it's not like I can remember any of your screen names next to real names, anyway.  :)

Crudblud

The meeting expired. Sorry for such an inauspicious conclusion!

ritter

I was kicked out as well. I'm afraid that we cannot rejoin without the host starting the meeting again.

It was great talking to you all.

Happy new year!

Sorry for leaving you suddenly, in the middle of our meeting: but my free Zoom session was over too, and the host - Karl - had already left us and could not allow me back in.

So anyway: Happy New Year, very nice to have met live!:  Karl, Cato, Ritter, Poco Sforzando, No. 6 {?], Dan Garrity / Frank Zappa / alias Crudblud.

Looks like our free meeting is over! Nice to have met all of you, however briefly!

I meant to ask why it is that Dutch women are so beautiful, but the opportunity never arose.  :D

Great seeing and talking with all of you!

The way it works is that anyone can host a free meeting for 40 minutes. To continue with unlimited time, you must have a paid account. I do have such an account (which I use often for other purposes) and at a later date I'll host an unlimited meeting. Not today though; I have some other tasks to take care of.

Since you mentioned that Schoenberg was a favorite, I wanted to say that Mrs. Cato and I were in London 5 years ago for our 40th Wedding Anniversary.

While there, we heard the Gurrelieder performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra, conducted by Esa Pekka-Salonen.

The solo singers for Waldemar and Tove were passable, the others were much better, Barbara Sukowa did her idiosyncratic interpretation of The Speaker, but the orchestra was marvelous!

Very nice! One benefit from the tenure of the rightly-disgraced Jas Levine with the BSO was a year of "two revolutionaries" programming, Beethoven and Schoenberg. So that was a season when I got to hear Verklärte Nacht, the Gurre-lieder, the Violin and Piano Concerti, and a concert performance of Moses und Aron in Symphony Hall. Boston won't stand for that again anytime soon!

Sorry I missed this notice. Next time hopefully.

I'm thinking of what my late Dad was wont to call "Little Christmas," the Feast of the Epiphany, Monday the Sixth. Does that work for you, Jeffrey?
