I posted the pic to FB, and you commented that I ought to post it to the Photography thread. I've no notion how I missed it, then.

I tried to view them, but all I got was about joining (as in creating an account).  :(

Oh dear, I didn't realize they did that.

I also posted them to Instagram as well

But I know Instagram tries to limit it in a similar way.

Well by clicking on Instagram, I was able to see a number of photos of some cool looking plants and also a few photos of a beautiful beach.  :)

Is this a private viewing or can anybody join?

Photography is hard. Your eye and whatever lens you happen to have at your disposal most often will not see the same thing. Can be frustrating. Took this of the Delaware. Using it as my PC wallpaper.

Nice!  Looks like that's a heron there in flight?

I tried to take some photos of an adult heron in a local pond, but it was either mostly under a "shrub" by the waters edge or I did see it in flight too.  All I had though was an old iPhone on me, so the pictures didn't come out very well.   :(   It was cool to see it though.

The trick is to use a camera with a telephoto lens.  If you get too close you'll spook him.  You need to keep your distance.

Yep!  I was too far away (and was trying not to disturb it).  I don't have a fancy camera like that though alas.  :(  I've heard that later generations of iPhones have much better cameras too (mine is an old 6).

That was the first time that I've seen a heron in the wild...a special day for me.

PD

p.s.  I do have an actual digital camera (purchased a number of years ago).  The trick is to remember to recharge it!  ::)

Thank You. Love to see some of your stuff - even though you say  they didn't come out well. They're probably better than you make out. Who's satisfied with their own work, amateur or pro? One day I'll get a hold of a Leica M6 and really make an effort, which is likely to turn out disappointing as the really great shots come when you're hardly ready.  :P

Oh, slight detour, but speaking of iPhones and so/called lens improvements here's an eye opening review of the latest 15 Pro Max camera:

Then you saw my whole Instagram account. I don't post much there.
The beach is Hollywood Florida, the closest beach to me (I live about 13 miles inland). The promenade is called the Broadwalk--not Boardwalk!--and had some webcams located along the stretch where I took those photos

(The photo in my sig is from the city website.)

The plants are from a restored wetlands
Before European contact, it was a Tequesta site. In the 19th century it was used as a refuge by Seminoles hiding from the US Army and forced transfer to Oklahoma. I believe the Seminoles who live now in South Florida are their descendants. In the 20th century it was dredged, used as land for citrus groves, then as the site of a tourist attraction mid-century, then a nice restaurant (I ate there a couple of times) in the 1970s/80s. About 1990 the county bought it and started restoring it. The restored area is rather large, but only a small part was walkable by a trail.

Oh, you're too kind!  Thank you though. 😘

Best wishes,

I don't miss New York at all. But Queens had its moments. Flushing-Corona Park (September, 2022), home of 2 (I believe) World Fairs:

Well, there are 8 million of them. Two or three are bound to be cool. 😎
