From this pioneering box:

Macal recorded a great amount of standard repertoire (Dvorak, Mahler, Mozart...), but definitely showed his interest in contemporary composers aswell: Isang Yung, John Duffy, David Ott, Danielpour. And this recording of Hartmanns 7th.

Roasted Swan

A fine conductor whose recordings I have always enjoyed.....

Archaic Torso of Apollo

Good conductor, based on my limited exposure to him. I heard him a couple times in New Jersey when he was heading that orchestra. I recall a head-banging performance of Rouse's 2nd Symphony.

Later another 2nd - Mahler - with the CzPO in Prague, shortly before I moved away from that city.

He was also the MD in Milwaukee for a while, which is how I first heard of him - WFMT used to carry their performances.
formerly VELIMIR (before that, Spitvalve)
