thankfully, GMail's encrypted email service still works.
My friends in Samara and Irkutsk and St. Petersburg all are now unable to communicate via Instagram and FB Messgr ...
I know some VPN's are trying to make workarounds - does anyone here know of a VPN that still works in Russia (today)?  not Mac or Linux, please - they are not able to run those there

Update from ExpressVPN: " Our service normally works in Russia; however, there is an ongoing connectivity issue in Russia at the moment. Our engineers are aware of the issue and are working to restore connectivity at the earliest time possible. " -- yeah, I'd call that a 'connectivity' problem, mate - they chopped you off at the warbles!

     As of Nov. 10 PureVPN was still claiming it worked in Russia.
