Life magazine photographer, Charles Peterson, took this and many others of a jam session in New York City, 1939, that didn't make it into the article but, boy, what a capture. It's one of my favorites capturing a young Bille (Holiday) and I spot (what looks like) Hot Lips Page behind the piano. Not sure who the other musicians are, though. Maybe someone here can correctly identify all the players (click pic).

The guy to Billie's right holding the drink looks like Eddie Condon.
