I like to start a new thread for Iranian Classical music but do not know how.Combining it with Classical music from India is o.k. with me.

A fine choice !

Morteza Mahjoobi (1900 – 1965) was an Iranian pianist and composer. He changed the tuning of piano for his compositions founded on the traditional Persian scale.

My very first encounter with the music of Iran was about fifty years ago. The almost ferocious rhythms, the unpolished sensation  of an authentic document is available here.
I would like to bring this recording to your attention .

Mandryka

Anyone interested in this music may enjoy read Mathias Énard's Boussole, there's a translation into English (Compass)

Matar Muhammed Bousoq

Lebanon, this thread is dedicated to the classical music of Iran but I would like to make an exception for this recording.
I know Matar Muhammad from an LP  and it is a shame that has not been released on CD.
It can be listened to on YouTube, but the quality leaves much to be desired.

Highly recommended for those who still own a record player.

This CD is not a studio recording but a live recording.

Here you can see this flamboyant musician
