I realize that starting this thread may get me into trouble but Trump's interference with the arts cannot be ignored.

I reviewed the previous thread and there was post that said they doubt that it would happen.  Well, it did.

Before this tread is locked, I have one question.  How much damage does this man have to do to the arts before we can express our concerns?

Expressing concern—what a fantastic strategy! For three years now, the West has been deeply concerned about a war raging in the heart of Europe. And the more cities get bombed—including those under UNESCO protection, like my Odesa—the more concern we hear. Or maybe it works the other way around: the more concern, the more unchecked killings. But hey, now that Trump is back, there's at least a chance we'll see some action instead of endless concerns.

Concerning the Trump Concern I'm deeply concerned.

The link says:

Trump subsequently fired multiple board members appointed by President Joe Biden, including former Secretary of State Antony Blinken and former White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

This means that the politicization of Kennedy Center began before Trump.

Be it as it might, I wonder: are the arts in the US so heavily dependent on Kennedy Center as to be so greatly damaged by its direction being assumed by Trump?

The news is now confirmed. Thanks to all for your participation.

This thread will now be locked. Concerns have been expressed. From here on, and we all know this from past experience, the conversation would only turn acrimonious. It would be a victory for a certain Weltanschauung to let all aspects of life to become imbued by (US) politics, and I do not intend to let that happen here on GMG on my watch.

Thanks for your understanding.
