This is a recent discovery for me

I think it's as least as good as any other MI performance.
If you download, you can get the 2020 remastering Warner did for its big Barbirolli box.

You know when you know some piece or pieces really well, but haven't heard them for 5 years or so what shock it is to listen to them again and remember how good they are. This happened with me today:



(Original cover art for the three separate CDs was much better).

Just marvellous, many of these are complete masterpieces in a 5-6 minute span.

It's a fine recording which I hadn't heard before - I've enjoyed most everything I've ever heard from the Purcell Quartet.  My only other contact with Purcell's sonatas is from the Robert King CD.
