Someone thinks the German Requiem is BORING?

Bring me their head, Sir Henning. ;D

Well, in two days I have seen the word "boring" applied to the Beethoven Vn Sonata No. 10, and the Brahms German Requiem.

As opinions go, ho-hum.

Well, you know what they say about opinions...

Everyone has one but most of them are not Karl's.  ;D

True enough, but they don't really say that, you're not fooling me!  ;D

Elgar: both symphonies

Oh Wait...I don't even like Elgar at all.

I have to say Beethoven's operas.
Never liked any opera in my life unless it's Carmen without the vocal part.
Well i'm using Opera to post this but it's a browser not an opera~~

LvB's Choral Fantasy, Op.80

Actually, one of our (my wife and I) favorite pieces.

However, one that I have found I do not care for is Wellington's Sieg/Victory Op. 91.
There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

Hate is such a powerful word, but along the lines of the thread:
Much as I love Prokofievs' 1st Violin Concerto, I really can't get on with the 2nd.
Much as I love Shostakovich symphonies (yes even the 12th), I can't get on with the 3rd.
Much as I love Mahler symphonies, I struggle with the 5th - yet it's probably the most popular.
Much as I love The Firebird and The Rite of Spring, I can't abide Petrushka.
Enough for pities sake!

Here all along ....... I thought that Mahler 5 was impervious to detractors ........  :D

Some things I can live without:

Ravel--Noble and Sentimental Waltzes

Surely you meant to mention Bolero with your Ravel pieces? I think he wrote it as a musical joke but it's no longer funny to me.

I rather enjoy the Bolero. I think it's a remarkable work that shows what can be achieved with an economy of ideas.

Interesting; I have the exact opposite problem!

Add another name to the Ravel pool. I love his Daphnis (complete), Bolero, La Valse, Pavane ... in fact, almost all of his orchestral music except for the Valses Nobles et Sentimentales.

I love Tchaikovsky, but only rarely can I abide the first Piano Concerto.
