This splendid review of Beethoven's quartets, written by Bruce and published in his blog are worth reading - and responding to! - I am not too familiar with them and don't feel competent to comment, but others here might. How about our Beethoven admirers?

Excellent.  Well done Bruce and thanks for bringing this to our attention Lis.
There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

Lis and Bill, thank you for your very nice comments!  It was a fun article to write.  Beethoven's chamber music is not my usual beat, but it's good to get out of "your usual" now and then!  And in this case, these recordings were a very good reminder of why Beethoven is so popular.
