Anyone knows what is the brand of the scorebook which is blue in colour. I think it's in series by composers and type of pieces (e.g. Etudes, Preludes etc). Any relevant websites that I can go look?

Thanks!

Ok, I found out already. It's G Henle Verlag books.

I saw the catalogue. So Verlag books doesn't produce any Rachmaninovs?

"Verlag" means publishing house. Henle would be the name. They produce only what they have a license for, I would presume.

Rachmaninoff's works should be public domain by now, but Henle must not have an interest in them.  Too difficult, perhaps, for their market niche, etc.

Henle specializes in scholarly "Urtext" editions, in which all the original manuscripts and source materials have been consulted in order to make as definitive a presentation of what the composer wrote as possible. Usually this means that the music they publish is older than Rachmaninoff, although not necessarily much older. Already they have the Scriabin 8th Sonata and Berg Piano Sonata in their catalogue.

There are editions of Rachmaninoff published by C.F. Peters, G. Schirmer, Kalmus, and some collections are available from Dover, which ought to be a good buy.

thanks guys!

i'm intending to get for my friend a Rachmaninoff's preludes scorebook. He's quite keen on playing them but he's looking for a good score.

Any recommendations?
