how to make jpgs from a DVD

anyone know how to capture photos from a VOB file? Freeware only please, I'm not going to pay for this. cheers

Do you have the printscreen function?

i tried that then copied it and saved it but once I stopped playing the film the picture just shows a black screen. apparently it doesn't work.

thanks, I'll try jetAudio for next time. I figured out that I need to convert the VOB file to .mpg and then I can load it into Windows Movie Maker and save a picture with a single click. Worked fine

Good thing you did that. For some reason I felt the urge to double check. It seems the "capture" button doesn't work for DVDs...
