Harry - Any ballet or operetta composer.  *

Even though most people may associate Harry with Tchaikovsky, I have found it odd that I cannot remember one time where Harry actually listed a Tchaikovsky piece he was listening to in the "What are you listening to?" thread!?

* Or any composer who has released anything on the CPO label.  :D

Must be the beard...  :D

Now I come to think of it, I don't listen to Brahms that often anymore....  8)
I did when I joined the forum, though....

Time for a new avatar?  :D

That is true but I remember him stating that Tchaikovsky is his soulmate composer.

Actually, I've been wondering for years why your avatar is Brahms, because you seem to never listen to his music.  :)

Steve Ridgway: Xenakis

Oh yes, I found a load of Xenakis downloads last year and enjoyed them a lot more than I expected to. 8)

Gregorian, Medieval, Baroque music.
Jacques Buus, Zemlinsky (especially his wonderful 'Mermaid' work).

Also: Charles Tessier, since you have so many fields of interest, including the music of his time, and have some French connections.

Btw, I have a Dumestre recording, Carnets de Voyage, taking in a music from many areas, through Tessier's approach.

Ah, Le Roi Soleil. Nice choice. Although I have to say, I did like the Brahms pic, no matter how inappropriate to the user.  :)

I'm really not too familiar with your own listening habits and what composers you favor and the same goes for Pohjola's Daughter.

I would think Pohjola fairly obvious, unless she changes her screen name to Tapiola.

I have been correctly (above) linked with Beethoven, though I'd also take Shakespeare if he were a composer.

The member Pohjola's Daughter is a woman. One of the rarer, regular women members that posts around here.

I am probably associated with any composer or none, as I seem to listen to the widest possible range (sans mediaeval period).

I associate you with Havergal Brian the most. Ditto J.Z. Herrenberg.

I associate you with Mahler but I could've gone with Strauss. 8)

I guess Mahler, Brian and Feldman are the three most obvious ones for me, maybe Carter as well.
