I sold VMware (NYSE:VMW) some days ago, when it was at 96 per share. And SunPower (SPWR) at 102...  :P

Does that mean I should abandon Economics and start a new life elsewhere?

And this morning I almost sell Goodyear Tire (GT) before their balanca was released... It went 8.41% up in the last 4 hours.

between this and the broadcasts and whatever else you do, all I have to say is that you seem to have more time than other humans

Actually, I wish I had more time. Uploading files is easy: I load them into Rapiduploader in the morning and the program does the rest. The stock exchange is much more demanding (even though I'm still in simulator mode: no real money included).

(Cheking the transaction history I found out the figures in the first post were not accurate)

VMW
- purchased at $112.15, just before they dropped to $100
- Oct/26: sold at $112.70
- Oct/30: they reach a peak at $124.80    :P

SPWR
- purchased at 87.32,
- sold at 92.06 (in an attempt to reduce my beta)
- oct/31: a peak at 128.61. (a second  :P)

So what was your idea of their intrinsic value when you bought them and what was the margin of safety?  (and check with Fama - beta is dead)

Which one?  That is the issue - they are a dime a dozen.  The Fama & French 3-Factor model is probably the most widely used and provides the best fit
