The customizable on-line radio service Pandora (www.pandora.com) has now added classical music.  For those who are not familiar with it, for non-classical music you enter either an artist or song name and it plays similar music.  The engine is not quite as good at the subgenres as it is with Jazz and Rock.  I entered Ferneyhough, for example and got composers from Schoenberg & Webern to Druckman, Berio.  I had more luck with Elliott Carter - they had vol 5 from Bridge in their library and other selections were from Stockhausen.  The selection of early music is modest at this point as well.

For all the non-USA residents: I read this post on another forum....

Funnily enough, I can't use my existing Pandora account through this laptop I'm typing on now because Pandora recognises that my IP address is outside USA and so the service is regretfully withdrawn. However, if I use my Squeezebox to connect to Squeezenetwork (remote server service for SBs) and then ask that to access my Pandora account, everything goes swimmingly, and I was able to create a new classical station ("Minimalism") that I couldn't from the laptop. Maybe this is common knowledge on the slim forums, but it seems the middleman effectively disguises the originating IP address. Just another reason to have a Squeezebox

PS IIRC I originally set up the Pandora account with a USA mailing code - 90210

Haven't tested it myself but thought I'd offer it as a possible solution in case anyone is interested.....no idea what Squeezebox is either...
