Returning to the still slightly interesting unresolved ultra-bargain Brilliant Handel box issue at Amazon.com ... it's curious that there is no change and we're still waiting for a delivery estimate. I'd have expected that if the whole thing was going to be declared a mistake, the orders would have been cancelled by now. In the meantime, despite being on sale everywhere else (eg, in stock on Amazon uk, priced at £94.99), the box is listed as 'currently unavailable'.

It's got that "lights on, nobody home" vibe . . . .

I expect a cancellation at this point, which is okay. It was a stupid price. Anyway, buying it got me over $35 on an order for free shipping.

What I fail to see is what is so "super duper" about it, considering it's close to three bucks a disc and it's one of these dreaded (by me) "original jacket" collections in which every CD clocks at under 40 minutes.

I am getting a Sept 28-Oct 1 expected delivery when I click on "Your Account" and click "View Orders" or "Track Delivery" on the top banner.

Thanks - that's hopeful! My order hasn't changed so far (still 'waiting for delivery estimate' etc), but from what you say, it looks as though they're working through what must be a large backlog!

Mine too hasn't changed for a while, but I noticed today that the tracking bar was on "Ordered" and beside it is now the information "WILL SHIP"....

Still hoping for the best  ;)

In terms of quality for the money this is my pick for 2015.

Agreed. I heard Martinon conduct the CSO in Rite of Spring and the performance left me speechless.

So far I've listened to I think 4 of the 10 Martinon CDs and each of them has been outstanding.

That said, I paid less than US$25.

That Mennin piece will impress you much better.  (I do wonder if Schwartz may be at fault in that Third;  I've heard a different recording . . . .)

On JPC de is a sale of many Pentatone CD'S, each copy just 4 euros. just look in the classical charts, left side page. Be quick about it, such things never lasts long.

And I forget to mention, also the label Ligia is throwing out many cd's for the same price.
The label Praga too! plus some HMF
