There are also some nice baroque anthologies with the "Les boreades" ensemble but I am afraid they are rather recorder-heavy?

When it comes to really big reductions, Hanssler's 172-cd box of the complete Bach works has gone on sale at Amazon.es for the ludicrously low price of €38 (perhaps one fifth of what it was available for previously there) It offers Helmut Rilling's cantata series and lots more classic performances. Amazon.co.uk have it at £47.
Both now show it 'temporarily out of stock' but it could be worth a punt.

At JPC, some nice bargains. Warning: these tend to disappear quickly. The British Orchestral Premieres 4cd set has gone up in price even though it still appears at 3.99€.

5.99€ for the Villa-Lobos quartets, a set much praised in GMG pages:


Thomas Rajna (piano) plays tutto Granados: 6 discs for 5.99€



A warm recommendation for the 15 cd set of Caballé Original Jackets collection (19.99€). Includes complete performances of Salome and Norma.



Orchestral works by Manuel de Falla: 3 discs for 2.99€ by the usually excellent Eduardo Mata

Abbado's 41-cd Symphony Edition has finally been falling in price, now down to only $60 on amazon.com. On this side of the Atlantic, it is €66 at amazon.es & €73 at amazon.de. Lots of complete cycles (Mahler, Beethoven etc) and many splendid pergformances.

In addition to a 3-for-2 sale at Amazon.de, Amazon.it now has a "3-for-20% off" on Warner boxes, which is less of a bonus but has the advantage that one does not have to find three boxes in the same price range to get the most out of it since it's 20% regardless of price.
