So you are saying that your glass is almost full but that it will never be full? :D

Yes, to fill my glass is an impossible task, in my country we use the allegory Danaidernes kar (kar means vessel).
Reality trumps our fantasy far beyond imagination.

Or maybe you simply don't like Horowitz.  ;)

Yes I do like him, but one has got to set a limit somewhere.

I don't like him, I prefer the anti-Horowitz, Rubenstein.

I love a good Rubenstein sandwich.

I still regret not buying the Horowitz box set (Jacket Collection), when JPC offered it for EUR 99.  :'( (I just have 20 of those discs)

To be clear, this baby:

Amazon Germany has this for €99

Not super-cheap, but the complete symphonies of Ives are available again on Hyperion "please buy me."

I agree, limits are personal, almost biographical. For instance, Horowitz is one of my favorite pianists since when I was 17 years old and I listened to "Horowitz in Moscow". It was an overwhelming experience and in the meantime I have purchased dozens of his discs (including 20 from the Original Jacket Collection) and probably for that reason I don't see anything particularly excessive in the idea of purchasing that 70-CD set.

Yes you are right, limits are personal. If say a complete Leonhardt set suddenly appeared (containing all his recordings for Vanguard, Telefunken, DHM, Seon/Sony et.c.) I would probably get it even if I own >95 % of the recordings already.

Well, I suppose it will be not a surprise if I say: me, too. Regarding DHM this 20-CD set (released in Japan) was a nice illusion, but unfortunately it was OOP when I knew about it:

(I know that you know all of this; but I still hope that, for instance, Q or another GMGer will appear and will say: Oh, that set! It is available on this small website and it just costs $50)  :P ;D

Just had email from Amazon that it is out of stock.  Ah well.  Not to be had quite that cheaply then.

Still at least the Levine Mahler should be on the way.

That's a big box.  The sort of thing you order, then discover that "On the Beautiful Blue Danube" is included in its authentic, original version...for flute unaccompanied.   ;)

Hah, another fellow that likes the Strauss family. I am not alone anymore. ;D

You're being unfair, Harry; you're forgetting Andre Rieu.  ;D

Rieu is not a musician, and he modifies Strauss's music all the time, A musical barbarian.
He doesn't count. >:(
