Maybe not super duper, but pretty darned good I thought (Spirit of England for $7.16 from MP seller, includes shipping in US):
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000JLPNO8/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&qid=1313649867&sr=1-6&condition=new

Finding a Dutton at this price is unusual and I thought the disc quite good (though I have no experience with the seller, nor I am connected to him or her in any way :)).

New 20cd William Steinberg EMI ICON is £15.83 at AmazonUK. The Icons for Mackerras and Handley - 5cds each - to be issued at the same time are the same price. How long before they realise?

The linked content shows 5CDs for the Steinberg set. Am I missing something?

CD covers says 20, while Amazon count shows 5.

Yes, the front cover picture that specifies 20 CDs. The text spec of 5 CDs is probably the cause of the mispricing. More important, is this good stuff?

Even the EMI site does not yet appear to show contents, so not clear what exactly is there. BUT, much of what he did was quite good. At that price, it isn't too bad a risk. The Amazon US price is ~$95, so getting your money back by selling it would seem likely. Though, they do sometimes change the price. Still, seems like a pretty good deal considering the prices of other Icon series sets (which are typically smaller).

Even the EMI site
Has that site ever had any relevant information on anything?

Well, they do show it being released in September. They just don't give any other additional information on it. You could search for the EMI releases on Amazon (or other site) to see what might possibly be there, or maybe someone here knows.

I have exactly three Steinberg recordings, all of them concertos, all of them excellent. I'm thus inclined to consider the set. :)

Edit: All of them violin concertos, in fact. The Tchaikovsky with Huberman (on Naxos; no further comment needed here), and the Beethoven and Brahms with Nathan Milstein on EMI Great Recordings of the Century.

I don't suppose you can link to the Handley set? I can't seem to find it. :(

I found it easily by writing Handley icon in the amazon search field.

Search for EMI Icons and click on "Next 90 Days" under Availability (or whatever it's called) on the left-hand side menu.

Search for "EMI Germany" and look for the 10-CD set of Mozart's Masses conducted by Peter Neumann and his PI band.

Thank you!

Wouldn't it be nice to know what will be in these Icon boxes 0:)  The EMI sites are useless.

Contents and recording dates for the Steinberg box -

It is just worth noting that there is some overlap with the Milstein Icon box namely the Beethoven, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Glazunov and Tchaikovsky concertos - about two-and-a-half cds - but at this price who cares?

Handley and Mackerras -
