In my opinion, a bargain, if you consider the value of the music and interpretations. I would like to see this bigger box with Leonhardt, which Coop is presently playing, would be a bit cheaper. Any one that spots a good price, let me know. :)

Do you mean the Leonhardt Edition on Teldec, Harry?

No, this one Antoine.

Oh, yes, Harry, that's the Teldec Edition (Teldec das Alte Werk). I have the original release of this set (jewel boxes and complete booklets, although really their booklets never were too much exhaustive  :)).

This 16 CD set is available at a ridiculous price on amazon.it. Any comments on the recordings?

No comment on the recordings, but my sense of the absurd likes the fact that the front was printed in English, and the back in Italian, and all from a German label.

Eyeresist--if you squint a little, you can make out most of it.
Beethoven Symphony ? (5, I think)
Brahms German Requiem
Bruckner Symphony 4 and Symphony ? (7, I'm pretty sure, but it's just fuzzy enough I could be wrong)
Elgar Enigma Variations Serenade for Strings In the South
Maderna: Quadrivium and two other works I could probably be sure of if I were more familiar with Maderna's work
Mahler Symphony ? (either 5 or 9, I think)
Mendelssohn Symphony No. 4
Mussourgsky Pictures at an Exhibition Night on Bare Mountain
Resphigi Pines of Rome Fountains of Rome Roman Festivals
Schoenberg: Verklarte Nacht Pelleas and Melisande
Schubert Symphonies 8 and 9
Schumann Symphony 2
Sinopoli--Suites 1 and 2 with an overall title I can't make out
Strauss--Also sprach Zarathustra Don Juan Dance of the Seven Veils from Salome

Why the titles of In the South and both Schoenberg works were not translated into Italian and everything else was, I have no idea.

Lethevich

My squinting makes me think it's Beet's 9th and Bruckner's 7th.

His Bruckner is amazing, they should box all dat. As M isn't here to do it, I will say that anything by Sinopoli is super awesome and worth a go :)
Peanut butter, flour and sugar do not make cookies. They make FIRE.

If you go to amazon.it, you can click on the back cover and zoom in. It will show:
Beethoven 9
Bruckner 4 & 7
Mahler 5
Tchaikovsky 6
et al...

No squinting needed!
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Yep. There is no info on this except the backcover picture, otherwise I would have linked or pasted it. The zoom function works however for anybody actually having the initiative to seek it out on amazon.it. The enlarged backcover couldn't be posted as an image either.

If it's so little interest to you, then why complain? Typing amazon.it, then sinopoli in the search field would have taken you less time than these two posts.

There would have been more to it than that, though, wouldn't there? If you're asking for an opinion on a record, the most polite thing would be to provide the information need to make the judgement, rather than expecting people to hunt around a foreign-language site for your convenience.

Well, I thought this thread was about giving other members hints about potential interesting purchases, and in return getting their feedback in case they had something to contribute. I would have given info on the content if I had them. If you have nothing to contribute on Sinopoli it's OK by me. Making a case of me not listing what isn't available certainly isn't helpful or a positive contribution to what this thread is about.
