Que, I hope you already ordered it, because the price is now back up over 60 Euros.
On the other hand, the smaller Sony 15 CD set I ordered is still at 18.90 Euros

Yeah, I hear you.  The same happened to me with that Bach Organ Works set by Olivier Vernet ...   >:(

That was one-of-a-kind. It came down to a hundredth of a Euro. And it would have still been a bargain with JPC's atrocious shipping rate slapped on.

Perhaps I get another shot at the Leonhardt set some time in the future. :) Sory for waisting the opportunity, Navneeth!  :-\

I was still busy deciding on stuff to go with - I guess someone was less fussy... ;D

I have never placed a real big order with JPC (usually under 100 Euro) and if that one-price shipping of 13 Euro applies, then its shipping rate is not that atrocious compared with MDT where I routinely pay over £10 (with no cap) in shipping to the States ...

Is this among the highest shipping rates for JPC?

BARGAIN ALERT!

The whole Rise of the Masters series is on sale for $1.99 a pop. The world's best music with the world's worst covers at the world's best price. Some name performers in there. Definitely worth the risk.

Hmm.

Obviously, I could not speak generally with any authority, so take this as a single data point.  But years ago, I picked up the Chopin waltzes played by Tomsic, and found that CD to be an eminently forgettable musical experience.

The Tchaikovsky collection includes performances by Neeme Jarvi, Paavo Bergland and Leif Segerstam. The Debussy has Noriko Ogawa. There's some very good stuff in there.

Oh-ho! Dig ye this:

QuoteDubravka Tomsic never recorded the 14 waltzes!
In a recent conversation with Miss Tomsic, she stated that she has never recorded Chopin's 14 waltzes. The German company which produced this CD is using her great name erroneously. Whoever the artist is, he or she is competent at best, but definitely not Dubravka Tomsic.

And some dodgy stuff . . . music-piracy-laundering? . . .

Yikes.

But, heck, what do you want for 2 smackers?
