I'd vote for that manifesto.

I would propose a slight change: Karl's Excellent Adventure.

A tribute to that classic titled Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure8)

Not only at bargain price, but could be in your mailbox in less than 650 years.

But that's business days, so could take over 900 years

This is the only box that has the eighth symphony, right?

And it's listed as "used-good".  Imagine what the price would be if it was brand new!*

*Actually,  $11.49.

Gurn Blanston

That's that silly software gone wild crap. Volume 3 of the Schuppanzigh's Haydn quartets has the same price, same delivery time. Shipping from Arizona USA though. These sellers can't be bothered to actually price stuff themselves, they prefer to rely on buggy software to do it for them. Thus they don't sell it. As I understand, the issue cascades when one pricer sees another one screw up, it is programed to prove that it is even more wonky than the first.  ::)

Even the big sellers screw up Gurn.  I had a zoverstocks CD go from £2 to £800...
I took it out of my basket in case I clicked checkout by mistake  :P

A wise precaution!

But that one is positively a steal compared to this one: http://www.amazon.com/Tchaikovsky-Piano-Concerto-No-1/dp/B000003R1X/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1374264888&sr=1-1&keywords=tchaikovsky: $12,182.11 new and 18,077.36 used. For that price, you don't even get a cd cover!

And the $18k used disc is only "gently used" so it's a steal no doubt.

Speculation--Beethoven is the pianist, and Tchaikovsky conducted.  Orchestra is whomever you prefer.  This would at least justify the price for a one of a kind recording.

Zoverstocks sells these "used - very good" for £2.08 (Amazon.co.uk Marketplace)   ???
They had "only 12 copies left" when I ordered mine.

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Browsing Amazon late last night, found out by chance that Naxos Direct UK are having a sale/cull of quite a few interesting Marco Polo & Da Capo recordings.

If interested click on the link, this is one of ten I've ordered.  Anyway, all the Naxos Direct UK 'sale bargains' on the above two labels are for £1 each.

Possibly the best way to search is via Amazon Classical, type in the word Marco Polo then sort by Price: Low to High...all the recordings are there for £1 which are available.  Do the same search with Da Capo then sort by Price: Low to High...there's many a composer whom I haven't heard (yet) and its great window shopping.

Danish composers Karl Aage Rasmussen and Bent Sorenson, quartets played by the Arditti Qtet.
Example Link : Arditti Quartet 2cd set

There's probably over 40 cds at £1 so it would have taken an age to link them all up.

Here's what I bought first time round.

Bentzon, Symphonies 3 & 4
Gade, Symphonies 3 & 5
Gliere, Symphony 3, Ilya Murometz
JPE Hartmann, Symphonies
Koppel, Moses
Rasmussen, The Ballad of Game and Dream
Rasmussen/Sorensen String Quartets, Arditti
Sternefeld, Mater Dolorosa
Stanchinsky, Piano Works
Tansman, Symphony 5

Hope you find something of interest, there are many modern/avante works there and much unknowns (certainly many unknowns to myself)....might be worth another dip later.   8)

I ordered mine just the other day, prior to your post.  They only had 1 copy left after my order.  (2 Super Audio set)

Great 'heads up'
