Yes I alerted GMG of this box in 2013, apart from a few misses in it its pretty awesome.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

:blank: <- this represents my lack of interest.  However, there are a couple of real beauts that should tempt everyone [edit: these are from amazon.co.uk, so won't work from US Amazon, where they aren't offered yet]:

I bought the giant Korean Sony box, so should have all this already. Even so, I'm rather tempted (I don't know if the link will take you there, but his should be for the English Amazon, where it is 27.5 pounds.

This is 81 pounds for 60 Cds.  I don't know anything about Bernstein on DG (I have the Sony from NY, and it is wonderful, and with great sound. Did they do weird miking and mixing at DG during this era, late late 70s and 80s Karajan?)

Here's a mystery set, Decca 100 symphonies 56 discs

No other details! But the price is good. I'm tempted tp pre order due to the price guarantee, and maybe cancel later should it not appeal.  If I remember

DG has those two big symphony boxes for good prices, too.  (The Centenary Edition and...the weiner philharmoniker symphony edition?) I tend to find those resistible as they tend to be warhorse symphonies that I already have several copies of.  I'll be curious to see the details on this one.

By the way, at Amazon de, the Teldec, Erato, and Das Altewerk boxes are all under 100 euros.  I love my Teldec box.  Loads of gems, and nice variety and recording quality.
It's all good...

Alas I think I am giving up on ImportCDs. They took my money 3 weeks ago, did not ship, and have not responded to 3 emails.
I am lodging a claim with PayPal.

I use a regular credit card.  The Percussions de Strasbourg box I ordered on the fifth of this month was shipped today; when I ordered it was listed as being shipped in 4-7 days, so obviously their shipping estimates are not always reliable.    When were you promised shipment?  (But yes,  if they have your money and have not responded to emails,  I would be contacting PayPal too.  Not had to communicate with them, so I don't know what their usual email response time is.)

I was promised shipment by 4 Feb when I ordered. Item shows as in stock and shipping within 24 hrs, and has every time I checked it. I've used them many times, and I don't like having to complain through PayPal, so I'm not happy about it.

I ordered 3 items on Dec. 23. They said 2 would ship in 5-10 days.  Those two haven't shipped even now, and like you, I've had no responses to emails.  Really irritating.  Their shipping fees are awesome (a fraction of Amazon's US to Taiwan rate), and they are often the cheapest, but this is ridiculously bad service.  I don't even check their site any more.

This is why I like paypal and Amazon. If the vendor ignores you they rarely ignore the 600 pound gorilla. I've never had to get Paypal to adjudicate; just a complaint routed through them has always produced quick responses. So that's what I did today. I report on what happens.

Did you see this Baklavaboy?

5-10 days for them is like four weeks at mdt or some other unknown quantity of time. They are reliable IF they are in stock. I would not buy from any of them if backordered, not in stock, and not available. Since I started ordering in stock only, I have had nearly no problems.
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Yes! I have the final 3 volumes.  The second one was super expensive (oop for a while, but now back). I'm a bit leery as the audio quality for the Bebop box is pretty poor.  Also, I bought them just as I was getting into classical. I've probably played 5% of the discs...   For those who like "straight ahead" 50s jazz, the Modern Jazz box is awesome.

The EMI France Beethoven a la francaise 50 cd box is $65 at an Amazon us vendor.
Very high quality performances, but the only remastering I've heard is the Cluytens, which is excellent.

RCA Living Stereo Vol I is the only order I've done with Import CDs.  Delivered to the UK on Day 8 from the order.  So, in stock and very quick.  Postage rates as cheap as UK to UK for such a weighty monster of a box.

I don't think I've ever waited for more than 10 days from order to delivery from anything USA to UK.  Amazon or Specialist Distributor Stateside.

Belcea Quartet complete cycle of Beethoven quartets found on Amazon UK yesterday for about £22 pre-order.  This is very competitive compared to the two 'half-cycle' volmes.

Hafod,

That's a corker of a spot and SDCB !

I've ordered one, 11 in stock AMZ UK.  Probably get cancelled but they usually don't when from Amazon Direct.  Last biggie was the £15 Tchaikovsky 55cd Brill Box, now £120+, that was a year ago and that came through for many of us.

Hope this is a goer!!  Will let you all now if I get the dreaded "Sorry, cancelled email blah di blah"...

Cheers!
