Haitink's Beethoven symphony cycle with the LSO is available for an $11.99 download from Amazon. I love the SACD version but for those on a budget, it seems a good offer.

Anyone interested in the Janowski Ring cycle?  A 40 CD set of Wagner which includes that (and 28 other discs) is $12 at ImportCDs.
   The box has been in this thread before, but nowhere near this price.

  Yeah, they have some ridiculously low prices on some items.  The Naive Vivaldi boxes are dirt cheap (some $16) as well as some of the sweet DHM boxes, such as the Mozart box--10 discs of very nice performances for $14.

Another reason for buying directly from reliable marketplace sellers rather than going through their amazon link is the savings on p&h.  mp will add  a small amount for additional items, amazon add the full base amount to each item.  I saved at least $10 on my 4-item purchase that way.
amazon is still a good alternative when one is unsure of a supplier's performance, however.

  It's a real box of chocolates.  relatively few war-horses and lots of wild cards.  For anyone who wants to sample a wide repertoire in very good sound, I think this might be a good (and cheap) way to go about it.

I have that and like it. It's a ridiculously good deal.  The DVD isn't much, however, IMO. It's maybe 15 minutes of Horowitz playing live, from a somewhat degraded video.

Fine by me.  I often never play those DVDs anyway.  And even w/o the DVD,  I paid less than a dollar per disc.
I wonder what the GMG record for that ratio might be.

I think the best I got was the Rubinstein box for around $0.75/disc, shipping included.  People who got the DRD Haydn when it was selling for crazy low prices should have been around $0.65/disc, or thereabouts, if memory serves.

The Sony Wagner box mentioned above is currently $0.53 per disc, including U.S. shipping.

The Liszt box is tempting at that price. I'm going to resist it, though, because there are so many other things I actually want.

  With the Wagner box, there is a big caveat. I think 1/3 of the discs aren't operas, they are just random collections of excerpts and incidental music and whatnot.

I got that for $1/disc. My best deal ever was probably the 100 CD Brilliant Russian legends for $40, followed by the Great Big Rubinstein Box.
