Are you in the North West of England or the NW of Elsewhere?

Nice one to you Sir!  Be a struggle to fit it in before Christmas, only 70 odd days and 65 cds to hit!

Well the NW of Elsewhere sounds like a place I ought to seek out, but the Northwest of England is what I've got.
65 CDs of Handel all at once. Oh for Heaven's sake. Madness.

It's the sort of place that needs to be borrowed, I think.

Oh, in hopes that it might not ever be returned, do you mean?

Oh no, more in the sense that you might lend a good book to a friend. At least, that's how I imagine the place. Northwest of Elsewhere is the land you see below and stretching far ahead as you reach the crest of a low hill, holding your hand to your brow to shield your eyes from the hazy sunlight of a warm afternoon. Woodland begins at the foot of the hill, with wave after wave of treetops going off into the distance, with a purple hint of mountains at the horizon. And you know, you just know, that if you go down into that wood, you won't come out the other side unchanged.

Lovely!

Well it might not be, Karl. We don't know what's in that pesky wood, you know!

Of course we are only guessing. We may hope that AnthonyAthletic will give us the lowdown when he next pops in, for 'tis he who invented the place.

Just like the Shire in the Hobbit.

Yes. Or part of the journey to the Well at the World's End, in Morris.

I have that CPE Bach box. It's very good.

I ordered one yesterday - though I'm really not sure about buying such music in modern piano versions ... but I've heard so many good things about it, I couldn't withhold.

I have listen carefully at the samples and decided against it. It simply has not the authentic feel of CPE Bach's music, and a modern piano will not do for me. Had it been a forte piano I probably would have bought it.
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Or a clavichord! Now THAT is an instrument with a really cool sound. It is terrific in this repertoire! 8)

Fortepiano or clavichord over piano any day for me. I do have some CPE on the piano and much prefer the Bis series' choice of instruments.

Hogwood Mozart box

Wonderful music!

There seem to be two editions, one only offering notes in Italian, looking like this:

Not sure, but the above offer looks like it's for the "real" one (multi-language notes - and the booklet is worthwhile if you don't know much about Mozart's symphonies already), but as it's coming from Italy and as I'm really glad to have the full booklet, I just felt like mentioning it.
