Do Beyerdynamic headphones have earpads that turn to crap every other year, requiring costly replacements, and cables that kink up like crazy and are tweaky as hell (causing left and/or right channels to kick in and out all the time)? --i.e., like Sennheiser?

I have both and never had a problem with earpads, cables or much of anything really...so not sure I can help...

My Audio Technica ATH-M50s have the covering material flaking off the ear pads, so I get little black flakes in my hair all the time, and the gap between the cable's protective black covering and the metal plug piece is almost 1cm of exposed wires now, but it's still working.

I think earpads turning to crap depend on where you live and the humidity.  I live in the Seattle area so while it can be damp here, the humidity is rather mild and does not cause problems for me.  Summers are dry usually.

Amaxon US lists it at $87.22 US.  Certainly more than 35€ but also less than 105€.  The full Hanssler box set is listed with European marketplace vendors at just under $235,  almost exactly what I paid for it four years ago.  Used copies are of course less.

My favorite pair of headphones, the Philips SHP9500s, don't have any problems with the ear pads as they're cushioned mesh. The way I wish more headphone manufacturers would go. Much more comfortable than velour pads believe it or not.

  It seems it is still there??! Do you know how long the discount applies? From what I can see the amazon.de discount seems to last until all the copies on sale are sold. Is this correct?
