jpc is offering many Southwest German Radio (SWR) recordings on Hänssler with a discount of up to 70%. Fans of Roger Norrington will find quite a lot of his stuff; there's also some Michael Gielen--not much--, or Sylvain Cambreling's Berlioz recordings.

SWR series: Hengelbrock's "From the library of JS Bach" are two interesting discs coupling Bach with pieces by earlier or contemportary composers he apparently found good enough to keep copies of.
Of the Gielen items my first rec would probably be Beethoven's 8th symphony and especially op.133 in Gielen's own string orchestra version (considerably more interesting than most string orchestra perfomances of that piece).

Thanks. Have this one in my cart now.

They also have the magnificent SEON box for 91 Euros (Ken B., I told you it would eventually get super cheap!).
It's all good...

I seem to remember you were interested in the Callas Remastered set.
Amazon FR has it on sale now.  I just ordered it and paid $140 including shipping to the US ( and of course VAT free).

Not SuperDuper Cheap perhaps but $50 less than current prices at Amaxon US.

No, wasn't me.  Peter (I suspect his wife banned him from GMG) was a huge Callas fan.

BTW, Amazon has the Sony LvB set for 35 Pounds (or did, a few days ago).
It's all good...

I remember one or two members saying they considered getting it, even after the new Decca box set was released.

It is worth having I think, especially at that price.

I would particularly recommend Frank Martin's Le Conte de Cendrillon.

Thank you Harry, I've ordered a small handful among with a couple of Melodiya issues that have been sitting in my tray at jpc for some time.

Thanks, Harry, about a dozen ordered (I noted some are multi-disc sets at 1-disc price)

A wonderful piece, and a great recording.

Thank you, Harry! I picked up a number of discs, including the Frank Martin one. Having bought several box sets recently, it'll be good to explore some less common works.

Another super bargain, not to be missed, cheaper it doesn't get, and you get excellent value for your money. They do not have many boxes left, so run for it, and do not think twice. Blimey just 19,95 for 30 top CD'S.

I bought that one at my local Fnac store for €10 back in 2012. Suffice to say that, if you were not a fan of Baroque and Classical before listening to that box, you'll probably become one a few discs into the set.

Hogwood's Haydn is now 25 pounds at Amazon UK. It will be roughly 24 pounds to the US after shipping.

There's a 30% off Naxos offer on Europadisc for another two days, including a prerelase of Naxos' Finzi disc collected in an 8 CD box for around 16GBP (depending on your VAT regime). I ordered it along with a prerelease of Onslow quintets (labeled vol 1 in a complete series).
