Canteloube Songs of the Auvergne - which is "best"?

Bump.

I´ve had the Davrath, but it wasn´t to my taste. I found a bit old-fashioned in the vocal style.
Now I´ve got Kanawa, Bayo and Von Stade, in the main.
There might be even better ones, though.

This one, with Veronique Gens, is now probably my favorite. But as you note, voices are a very personal thing! You can find some of it on YouTube, though the sound on disc is much better.
