Let's play a bit silly game

It's a game, folks.  All these composers are already established, and none of them suffer.  These "minuses" aren't a big deal.

For the record, though, I don't play Operation by Hasbro, because I refuse to use magnetism as an invasive procedure.

Why the Dvorak ding Orbital...just curious.  :)

Karl, it's up to the two of us (plus my unborn child) to keep Schoenberg afloat, it seems, and it's a losing battle. :'(

Mark G. Simon

Both springrite and I gave a plus to Stravinsky at the same time, both thinking we had boosted his score to 6.

In fact, the two pluses now give Stravinsky a score of 7

The man that hath no music in himself,
Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds,
Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils.
The motions of his spirit are dull as night,
And his affections dark as Erebus.
Let no such man be trusted.

Stravinsky and Haydn neck-&-neck! The way it ought to be!  8)

He is one composer I never could get into for some reason, as much as I accept his greatness in the canon. The works I have of him, 8th and 9th symphonies, the cello concerto, the piano concerto, the piano quintets they all have that sense of predictability to them. Brahms generally has that too, but his sound pallette and melodies make up for it IMO.
Having said that I realize I have not heard his SQs or the earlier symphonies

Doesn't anyone else cringe at the thought of national policy being determined by a Party that claims its contituents are too dumb to poke a hole in a sheet of paper?
