Looking forward to your thoughts on the new U2, Gordo!   :)

Thread duty ~

Listening to Wake Up To Find Out, the latest archival release from the Grateful Dead.  This notable show from Nassau Coliseum, on March 29, 1990, is the first meeting between the band and saxophonist Branford Marsalis.  I was in attendance for this performance and well, suffice it to say, that although I was already "on the bus" so to speak with the GD, this performance hit some really interstellar peaks for me!  Nice to revisit in very good sound too.   8)

Marsalis talks about this show in a recent Wall Street Journal interview:

Wise words from Que:

Never waste a good reason for a purchase....  ;)

Never to early to get ready for Christmas.

For those who are interested, this 2012 remaster by Anisini is the best mastering available of the original mono mixes.

I work in retail.
That is the soundtrack of a nightmare....
If you want a true classic,  look for John Wayne doing Winter Wonderland.
(I avoided the word singing by purpose, since whatever Wayne does in that song, he does not sing.)

I'm ashamed of myself, some years ago I used to be a rocker and today I suffer with lyrics of desperate young women:

BTW, Hannah really can sing.

Yeah, it has been years since I've heard this album, Conor. I remember it marking a different direction for the Pumpkins. Is this correct?

Yes that's right - SP recorded this album without the drummer and it is a bit different to their previous albums as it is more low-key and not as guitar-driven (it makes use of keyboards quite a bit). It is still a great album. I think this is SP last really great album - I have come to like the albums following Adore but they aren't in the same league as the first 4 IMO :)

I'm also skeptical of his claim  ;D  Does not jive with what we know of Dead shows...and Deadheads
