Hey, you nut, did you rent a U-Haul to get all that home?  ;D  Some really great stuff there (the Sinopoli/Studer Salome is high on my want list). It looks like a selection I could have made.

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Fortunately, at our Millenium Library, there is an extensive classical music section.  Definetely a great (not to mention inexpensive) way to explore works/composers I haven't yet heard.   :)

M, it definitely was interesting.  Not only this disc, but another Kremerata Baltica recording of George Enescu's Piano Quintet and Octet.

I will continue to look for some more KB recordings in the future.   :)

That's quite evident by the discs you've been borrowing of late. I envy you.

Chambernut, how was the Taneyev? I have the Naxos disc of these works, which I found disappointing.

Eyeresist, just listening to Symphony No. 1 right now.  It's ok, but not particularly interesting.  I am a bit disappointed so far, as there is nowhere near the energy in this symphony, as compared to the string quartets of Taneyev's that I've heard.

I hope for something more in Symphony No. 3.   :)
